Record Day for Women at the Harvest Fest:
Congratulations to Becca Cohen, who set &
beat the women's record!
Look closely on the right hand side and you can see
Kurt Waggoner's chin for the first time in years!

Hole 1 "Dirt Bikers' Mud Pit": 359 feet to the pin; a low ceiling
requires a roller or an accurate straight low shot to get past the
guardian pine trees and into the mud pit.
Hole 2 "Cedar Grove": 296 feet to the pin, which is guarded by a
semi-circle of cedar trees, with slight elevation. Routes to the basket are
primarily rollers, straight drives or big anhyzers.
Hole 3 "Mossy Grotto": 256 foot anhyzer shot, past a low ceiling of
cedar branches and down a sweet tunnel of mossy rock outcrops.
Hole 4 "The Sycaboomer Hole": New pin placement still requires boomer
drive out to grove of Sycamore trees, then up onto mossy rock ledge in woods.
Hole 3 (enlarge to see pin in center)
|
Hole 5 "Hannacroix Hole" alongside the creek; 285 feet, newly
designed hyzer shot through the cedars, up to the ridge near the creek.
Hole 6 "The Ripper": Approx. 378 feet to the pin; long hyzer is the most common
& safest shot, though one can throw low s-curve or anhyzer through the woods.
New tee 6
Hole 7 "The Ridge": approx 355 feet depending on the route you take
(long hyzer or long anhyzer); backhand roller is also a great shot here.
Hole 8 "The Shed": Straightforward 251 foot shot, as you please. Be
careful of going deep into the rough. Good hole for lefties or righties.
Basket-to-
tee on 8
Hole 9 "The Pedestal": We exalt this gorgeous hyzer shot up onto
verdant mossy rocks; slight change of elevation to pin; 259 feet.
Hole 10 "Monkey's Hole": Pin stands 259 feet off the rock outcrop, through a
narrow alley of trees. Control your shot, or only Monkey can save you.
Hole 11 "The Tunnel": straight shot 295 feet down a nice smooth alley, low ceiling.
Careful of wildflowers in the spring, please.
Hole 12 "PlayGround":
Until the dead cedar trees
(w/ red Xs) are removed,
this remains a 332 foot
roller hole or very low
straight shot. Some
people try throwing over
the tops of all the trees.
Hole 13 "The
Lighthouse Hole":
231 foot slight
anhyzer, through
the trees. Swamp
and lighthouse
are behind the
basket.
Hole 14 "Roller's Revenge":
278 foot major dogleg right.
Play it safe, and drive
straight for the daylight.
Can be birdied with lucky
rollers or flicks (some of the
time).
Basket-to-tee shot from hole 15
Hole 15 "Mount Misery": 252 punishing feet up onto the mossy rock embankment. Lots of trees to negotiate. Don't panic!
Just control your shot and hit the gaps and you'll do fine. Named in honor of Kevin's first course up on Mt Misery Road.
Another basket-to-tee shot from hole 15; it gives some perspective
|
Hole 16 "Old Man in the Box": 204 foot
approach shot, slight elevation change,
more mossy rocks.
Hole 17 "Ghost Woods": Sweet 240 foot anhyzer, slightly downhill. Don't
cut too early or you'll whack trees that seem to appear out of nowhere.
Also a good right handed flick shot.
Hole 18 "The Validator": Many a good round goes to naught on
this hole. 313 feet straight shot down a narrow alley; lots of trees
on both sides. Stay on fairway or risk bogey.
Club Mascot: Thelonius Monkey
Some clubs have bag tags. At J-Park,
we play for the good luck charm Monkey.
You'll need his help to get past the
numerous trees. Top scorer of any
semi-official round, as long as at least
three local players are competing, wins
the right to bear the monkey.
Thelonius hits the big time at Tim's house (he spends a lot
of time there lately; better than being molested by Skot's cat).
